Leilani Hines

Leilani Hines has been dancing since she was two years old in Baltimore, Maryland. Since the age of 7, Leilani has traveled around the United States dancing at festivals and showcases like Disneyland, Steps on Broadway, and Artscape. She joined the Morton Street Dance Company in 2013 and in 2015 she continued her dance studies at George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology. Later on, she became an Alumni of MSDC and ventured off to study dance with many companies. Some of the companies she  has trained with are the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Towson University and Pointe Park University. She was also featured in a documentary titled “Ballet After Dark”produced by Queen Latifah in 2019. Leilani has received several scholarships including, a $40,000 scholarship to the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins and a $64,000 scholarship to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she later continued her dance studies in 2019 and 2020. Her love for dance will never cease as she continues to inspire and motivate others through her movement and dance teachings at Backstage Dance Studio.
