Lindsey Sanders

Lindsey Sanders, a Baltimore, MD native, has been a part of the dance industry for over two decades. She currently choreographs, coaches, and teaches commercial dance, hip hop, and jazz technique at the pre-professional level at Backstage. She also travels to teach and choreograph in the convention and studio setting. In 2021 and 2022, her routines received the Stellar Award at Beyond the Stars Nationals. Competitive routines choreographed and coached by Lindsey have competed at the regional and national level, receiving top-score, choreography, best in genre, and entertainment awards. Since her first year as a competitive choreographer in 2015, her routines have been nominated for the Industry Dance Awards by multiple competitions each year for “Best in Hip Hop” and “People’s Choice”. Her 2021 piece, “Super Fly” was officially nominated as a “Best in Hip Hop” IDA finalist. Since starting her teaching career in 2014, right here at Backstage, she has expanded our competitive and recreational hip hop programs immensely. Her success in the competitive dance world opened up the opportunity to become a judge at Beyond the Stars. As a choreographer and music producer, her ear for music and eye for movement and detail enhances her creative and judging abilities. Before beginning her career as a choreographer, she performed in various award-winning competitive routines, many of which, choreographed by top choreographers in the commercial dance industry. She attended Monsters of Hip Hop multiple times a year and trained in a small group environment with many of the choreographers. She was accepted into Baltimore School for the Arts, a member of the crew “Dynamic” at University of Maryland, and has trained in all major technical, street, and commercial dance styles, making her well-rounded. She hopes to inspire and encourage young artists to pursue their passions and to make the most of every opportunity they come across!
